What makes a wedding so special?

A wedding isn’t just a party.
It’s one of the very few moments in your life that asks every person you love to pause their own lives, travel across cities, provinces, or even continents, and gather in one place to witness the beginning of your next chapter.
Think about it. There aren’t many days in life that carry that kind of weight. Dinner parties, birthdays, anniversaries... they all come and go. A wedding is different because it’s one of the last great ceremonies we have left.
Yet somewhere along the way, weddings have become reduced to budgets, timelines, trends, and Pinterest boards. While all of those things certainly have their place, we think it's a shame when they become the focus.
Because a wedding isn't about creating the prettiest party.
It's about creating an experience that feels unmistakably like you.
One day—or perhaps an entire weekend—that your guests won't remember simply because it looked beautiful, but because of how it made them feel.
We often say that design is a feeling; décor is simply the product. The flowers, the linens, the candles, the food, the music—those are all tools. What we're really trying to create is a feeling. One that reflects who you are as a couple and lingers with your guests long after the last song has played.
For us, it always starts with the people.
We spend months talking about colour palettes, floor plans and timelines, but when we look back on a wedding, those aren't usually the first things we remember.
We remember the dad trying to hold it together before walking his daughter down the aisle. The grandmother who travelled across the world to be there. The best friend whose speech somehow had everyone laughing one minute and crying the next.
That's what stays with us.
Martine on our team jokes that she's "a total sap," and she's right. Ask her favourite part of any wedding and she'll tell you it's the vows. She loves watching people lean into who they are as a couple rather than trying to create a wedding that looks like someone else's. We couldn't agree more.

Why the Details matter.
The details are what set a wedding apart from any other event. They transform it from "a beautiful party" into an experience that feels deeply personal.
When people tell us they don't want to focus on the details—whether that's florals, stationery, food, or even the beverages—we always smile a little. We understand what they're trying to say. They're saying they care more about the experience than the decorations.
Ironically, so do we, but that’s exactly why the details matter.
The details are what bring the experience to life. They quietly tell your story before a single word has been spoken. They reflect your personalities, your favourite places, your traditions, and even the way you love to host.
It's the linen texture you instinctively want to touch as you sit down for dinner. The signature cocktail inspired by your first date. The candlelight that makes a room feel warm and romantic. The draping that completely transforms a familiar venue into something guests have never experienced before.
We have spent more time debating candle counts than most people would think is reasonable—and honestly, we're okay with that.
Because these aren't just decorative choices. They're the things that shape how a space feels. They create the atmosphere that allows memories to happen.
Personalization is where a wedding truly comes alive. It's what makes your guests walk away saying, "That felt so them."
Scent is one of the strongest triggers for memory, yet it's often overlooked when designing a wedding experience. Maybe it's the smell of cedar that reminds you of weekends in the mountains, or the aroma of fresh espresso that brings you back to your favourite coffee shop. For Charlotte, it's a particular laundry detergent that immediately reminds her of spending time at her grandparents' house.

How do we make sure a wedding truly reflects our clients? It always starts with their vibe.
Before we ever talk about flowers or colour palettes, we begin with a complimentary consultation. It's our chance to get to know each other and see if we're the right fit. Planning a wedding is personal, and we believe the relationship between planner and couple is just as important as the design itself.
Once we've chosen each other, the fun really begins.
We dive into a detailed questionnaire and our favourite meeting: the design deep dive. This is where we uncover your story, your priorities, and all of those little details that make your relationship uniquely yours.
Our goal isn't to tell you what your wedding should look like—it's to bring your story to life.
By the end of that first planning session, our couples leave feeling excited, heard, and inspired. They know they're creating something that feels authentic to them, not simply following a trend.
At the end of the day, our couples bring the people, the love, and the celebration. Our role is to thoughtfully weave their story into every detail, creating a wedding that doesn't just look beautiful—it feels unmistakably like them.
